Set up, use, and manage Yahoo7 Account Key sign in to stop using passwords

Tired of remembering and managing multiple passwords? Account Key is more secure and allows you to skip using a password to sign in. Once enabled, Yahoo7 sends a notification to the mobile device of your choice. All you need to do is approve it. Access is limited to your private device, so no one else can get into the account.

Set up Account Key from a web browser

You must have one Yahoo7 app installed on your mobile device and be signed in to it.

  1. From a web browser, sign in to your Account Info page.
    - On a smartphone tap the Menu icon Image of the Sidebar menu icon., then tap Account Info, then tap the Menu icon Image of the Sidebar menu icon. again.
  2. Click Account security.
  3. Click See how it works.
  4. Select your device and app to be notified on.
  5. Click Yes, send me a notification.
    - A notification will go to the app you selected.
  6. On your device, tap the Approve icon Image of the Account Key accept button..
  7. Back in your web browser, click Always use Yahoo7 Account Key.
  8. Confirm your cellphone number, which is used if you lose access to your device.

Sign in with Account Key

For Account Key to work, you must be signed into a Yahoo7 app on your mobile device.

  1. From a web browser, sign in to your Account Info page.
  2. Enter your username, then click Next.
    - A notification is sent to your Account Key enabled device.
  3. On your device, tap the notification or open the app and tap the Account Key icon Image of the Account Key icon..
  4. Tap the Approve icon Image of the Account Key accept button..
  5. You might be prompted to either enter or tap a verification code to confirm.

Manage devices or disable Account Key

If you're using multiple devices and Yahoo7 apps, you can choose where the notification is sent. You can also turn off Account Key and switch back to a password, if you prefer.

Manage Account Key from a web browser:

Manage Account Key from an Android or iOS app:

  1. From your Account Key enabled app, tap the Menu icon Image of the Sidebar menu icon..
  2. Tap the Account Key icon Image of the Account Key icon..
  3. Tap Manage Account Key.
  4. Tap the toggle to the right of any device you want to turn on or off.
  5. Optionally, tap Disable Account Key to switch back to a password.
